The Boston Ventilator Project

A revolutionary open-source ventilator

In a city renowned for technology and medicine... a dedicated team of engineers and doctors came together to create a ventilator which meets the needs of COVID-19 and beyond. BostonVent is a low-cost, open-source, fully-featured medical ventilator designed for stockpiling, and for developing countries.

Why BostonVent?

BostonVent is a fully-featured medical ventilator that targets two unmet needs:

1. The ability to easily stockpile ventilators for use when demand is great, e.g. during a pandemic.

2. A low-cost, rugged, and flexible device for use in developing countries.

Our group consists of capable and experienced volunteers with combined FDA experience greater than 35 years. Our anesthesiologists have extensive experience in ICU and pre-hospital care. Most of our team have professional affiliations with Harvard Medical School or MIT.
